The League strives to continue in the spirit of the founders by providing various events and services that will enrich the lives of the residents of our community. Some of the current projects include an 8-week summer camp for low-income children, a free after school tutoring program on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons for Kindergarten through 12th-grade students, a Thanksgiving Basket program which distributes food baskets for our neighbors in need, and scholarships to help residents further their education. The league sponsors an annual A Day in The Plains, various celebrations, including community Christmas and Easter parties, complete with pictures with Santa and the Easter bunny, and maintains a Little Free Library in the center of town.
