Fall officially began on September 22nd and The Plains Community League is celebrating the new season.
Our tutoring program has started with a "full house". It is wonderful seeing familiar and new faces coming into the building. If you have an interest in tutoring, we are always looking for volunteer tutors.
On September 27th Windy Hill Foundation came to The Plains Community League and provided free bicycles and helmets to over 22 children.
We are grateful for our partnership with Windy Hill Foundation. They helped us with transportation to Summer Camp and we will be providing them with meeting space this year.
A Day in The Plains falls on October 5th, this year. The festivities will begin at 11:00 am and continue until 3:00 pm. We are fortunate to have some fantastic local music performing live: Jiamie Pyles & Jacob Pembleton, Steve Pugh, Alex Parker & Band
The Shenandoah Carriage Company will be here to provide wagon rides through the scenic Town of The Plains. Brennan's Balloons will be creating balloon animals. Brennan was here for our Easter Party and the children loved watching him in action and taking home a creation. Face Painting will be available. Baileywycke Antiques is donating pumpkins for a Pumpkin Painting craft. Use your imagination to paint a Jack O'Lantern or scene. An Apple Catapult Contest will be held at 1:00 in the Town Park. Bring your own catapult from home to compete.
