Denise Godfrey has stepped down as President of The Plains Community League. We thank her for the generous time, effort and donations she put into the league since joining the Board in June of 2020.
Over the past four years, Denise gave so much to the League, it’s impossible to mention everything here. Just some of her contributions:
· For our Summer camps, she led weekly classes for our campers, helped them establish a garden, hosted them at The Pink Dogwood Inn to learn about bees, guided crafts such as making bath bombs, helped campers and students create beautiful bouquets for their mothers, and more. Besides teaching the activities, Denise provided all the materials at her own expense.
· Denise, a gifted florist, shared her expertise by creating bouquets for our Scholarship winners, making centerpieces to include with Thanksgiving Baskets, decorated the community house with flowers, linens, and dishes for our community Valentine party, recognition party and holiday celebrations.
· She taught many holiday floral classes at the John Page Turner Community House including Thanksgiving Centerpieces and Christmas Wreaths.
· She loaned chairs and tables to the community league for scholarship ceremonies and A Day in The Plains.
Again, the Plains Community League sincerely thanks Denise Godfrey, a remarkable volunteer and donor.
