School is right around the corner. Camp ends on Friday August 9th as campers prepare to return to school on August 14th. For campers whose families need help, we purchased backpacks and classroom supplies. We will be filling the backpacks on Sunday August 4th at 3:00. If you want to help pack come to the Town Hall at 6451 Main Street, The Plains, VA.
Pottery has been a favorite activity for the campers. Their instructor, David Newquist,is a ceramic artist and has a small gallery and art studio in The Plains. He very graciously shared his love of pottery with our campers.
This summer the campers have been drawing pictures and writing letters to veterans through Heroes Bridge. Walking to the post office to mail their letters is very meaningful.
Campers love making crafts with Denise Godfrey! Bath Bombs were a big hit.
Campers look forward the STEAM activities led by Jodi Kieffer. Learning science concepts through hands on tasks is FUN. Maybe some of our campers will become scientists of engineers in their futures.
The best part of camp is spending time with friends: playing, creating, sharing, laughing and having fun.
